The April Fair returns to the Monte do Gozo brewery with a second renewed edition. The event will take place on April 14 at 1:30 pm and promises to be an event not to be missed.
This festival is one of the most important in Spanish culture, specifically in Seville. It is celebrated every year after Easter and is known to be one of the most emblematic of Andalusian culture.
Its origins date back to a livestock fair that was held in the nineteenth century, but over time it has been transformed into an event that combines folkloric tradition, gastronomy, music and dance.
The traditional dress of the Feria de Abril is the flamenco dress, which has become an internationally recognized symbol for its design and its characteristic polka dots. This festival attracts thousands of visitors from all over Andalusia and now lands directly in Monte do Gozo to celebrate in style.
A FAIR FULL OF MUSIC AND FLAMENCO
Throughout the day there will be different thematic activities with which to dance, sing and enjoy in the purest style of the Feria de Abril in Seville.
The flamenco show will be in charge of the Escuela de Danza Carmen de A Coruña. This center teaches classes of this typical Spanish dance style for all ages, from 6-year-old children to adults.
Gastronomy will also take center stage. For starters, the official drink of the festival will be rebujito, very popular in Andalusia and usually prepared by mixing manzanilla or fino wine with a lemon-lime soda.
There will also be a ham cutter and a wide variety of dishes with which to enjoy the typical food of the fair. Among the menu, you will be able to taste:
- Fried anchovies.
- Gazpacho.
- Cazón en adobo (marinated dogfish).
- Flamenquines.
- Meat with tomato.
- Squid with aioli sauce.
- Buñuelos de viento (fritters).
- Torrijas.
- Churros with chocolate.
